Kate has a strong generalist HR background with over 20 years’ experience working with a broad range of businesses including a number of large financial services organisations. She has a proven ability to operate at senior management levels and rapidly earn the respect and confidence of clients by understanding the business issues and delivering pragmatic solutions.
Kate’s areas of expertise are organisational development and change, strategic HR management, executive coaching, team and individual development, succession/talent management and management assessment and development.
Kate began her career with Nationwide Building Society where she progressed quickly to lead the HR team supporting its retail branch network. Following a move to Alliance & Leicester Kate broadened her business experience through supporting the Shared Services functions. During this time she managed the planning and implementation of a major change programme focused on restructuring in all non-customer-facing areas to achieve significant business efficiencies.
Kate then spent two years heading up the Management Development function at Alliance & Leicester. She successfully introduced and gained board level commitment to a robust succession planning process. From this she established a number of new initiatives including a talent assessment and development programme for the organisations high flyers and a ‘Women in Business’ Programme which acknowledged and supported the need for diversity improvements at the highest levels.
Kate works with a large number of organisations including BT, ACR Logistics, PTFS and Resolution plc. For two years she was the retained HR Consultant for Clarity Credit Management Solution Ltd and was subsequently invited to join the senior management team on a part time basis to take the business through a period of significant growth and change. Kate has extensive experience in working with both private and public sector clients, including NHS, where she has delivered a range of leadership development activity including working as an executive coach with senior managers.
Kate has a BA (Hons) Economics degree, is a Corporate Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development and an Associate Member Chartered Institute of Bankers. She is a fully qualified Myers Briggs, Insights Discovery Licensed Practitioner and SHL Occupational Testing/OPQ practitioner and is an Affiliate Member of the Association of Business Psychologists.
